Undergraduates from 1890 land-grant institutions are invited to apply to the CAFE (Careers in Ag and Food Exploration) Student Workshop, Farm Foundation’s newest Next Generation program.
The CAFE Student Workshop will take place at North Carolina A&T University Farm Pavilion over two days on May 20-21, 2024. During this time, students will participate in a variety of sessions which will provide an opportunity to enhance their understanding of the food and agricultural sector and the myriad career opportunities available therein. Session topics will include:
- goal setting
- practical tips for career success
- panel discussions from professionals working in agriculture and food
Participating students will also visit local farms and agriculture businesses. In addition, they will have the opportunity to network with each other and guest speakers throughout the workshop.
The CAFE Student Workshop is available to current freshmen and sophomore students from any major at 1890 land-grant institutions only. All travel, lodging, and meal expenses will be covered.
The Farm Foundation CAFE Student Workshop is made possible by the SAPLINGS (System Approach to Promote Learning and Innovation for the Next GenerationS) grant in partnership with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, as part of their $18.1 million grant from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
