Joshua Strine
Josh Strine is a second-year Ph.D. student in Agricultural Economics at Purdue University. He earned an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University, where he researched the effectiveness of the Fluid Milk Checkoff program’s advertising campaigns. He also holds a B.S. in Agriculture from The Ohio State University, with majors in Agricultural Economics and Animal Sciences. Growing up on a family farm in central Ohio, Josh’s passion for agriculture was established from an early age.
Josh’s research focuses are agricultural finance and farm management. Since starting his Ph.D. program, he has researched the agricultural job market, agricultural lending, and crop prices. Working with the Center for Commercial Agriculture at Purdue University, Josh has developed extension output, including maintaining the Crop Basis Tool and the Ag Jobs Dashboard and writing regular reports on both web tools. Currently, his dissertation focuses on the changing agricultural lending landscape and its effects on local lenders and borrowers. Upon completing his Ph.D., Josh will pursue a career where he can conduct impactful research for agricultural producers and policymakers.
