Nia Nyamweya

Nia Nyamweya is the founder and owner-operator of Beauty Blooms Farm, a 6-acre, no-till, certified naturally-grown food and flower farm in Montgomery County, Maryland. She founded the farm in 2020 with the mission to celebrate cultural heritage through food. Following a long-line of farmers and earth stewards in her family, Nia was called back to the land as a returning generation farmer.

She grows heirloom African heritage crops with regenerative practices and is dedicated to ensuring culturally important crops are accessible to everyone. In addition, Nia is the first small-scale regenerative farmer to lease from Maryland State Parks and organizes to create land access pathways for BIPOC farmers. Nia is dedicated to leaving the land better than when she found it while working towards food and land sovereignty in the DC metro area.
