Over two years, participants gain the skills, relationships, and real-world experience needed to move confidently from the classroom into the workforce.
Participants have gone on to intern with PepsiCo—and members of the inaugural cohort accepted full-time positions with the company.
Program Overview
Building Agriculture's Future Workforce
Agriculture needs talented young leaders with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to solve tomorrow’s challenges. But many students struggle to connect their education with meaningful career opportunities.
Field to Future helps bridge that gap.
Developed in partnership with PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation, this two-year leadership and career development program introduces undergraduate students to every stage of the food system—from production agriculture and supply chains to food manufacturing, marketing, sustainability, and agribusiness.
Participants receive scholarships, connect with industry leaders, attend professional conferences, participate in Farm Foundation programming, and build relationships that prepare them for careers across agriculture.
For many students, the experience doesn’t end with learning. Participants have earned competitive internships with PepsiCo, and members of the inaugural cohort have accepted full-time positions with the company.

Why It Matters
Agriculture's Future Depends on Its Future Workforce
The agriculture and food industries need talented professionals with fresh perspectives, diverse experiences, and a strong understanding of how today’s food system works.
Yet many students never see the full range of opportunities available—or have access to the relationships and experiences that launch successful careers.
Field to Future was created to change that.
By bringing together higher education, industry, and leadership development, the program creates a direct pathway from college to career. Students gain meaningful exposure to agriculture’s many career opportunities while developing the skills and professional networks employers value most.
The partnership also demonstrates what’s possible when industry and nonprofit organizations work together to invest in the next generation of leaders.
